Dependencies¶
This driver depends on:
Please ensure all dependencies are available on the CircuitPython filesystem. This is easily achieved by downloading the Adafruit library and driver bundle.
You’ll need a Circuit Python board with an ESP wifi module. We developed this on a PyPortal, but expect other boards to work as well provided you can use ESPSPI_WiFiManager.

Usage Example¶
Sending an event with a value1 of ‘touchy touchy’ when a PyPortal is touched:
The event name (circuitpylink in the below example) has to match what you have setup in IFTTT, and value1, value2 and value3 are varibles that you can pass through your IFTTT applet. See example_applet.png for details of how this should be set up.
You’ll need a secrets file that includes your SSID, Wifi password and ifttt key. This should be structured something like this:

You can get your IFTTT key from the mobile app by going into webhook > settings. Note that this changes every time you go into web hook settings, and this will cause your app to fail silently. If you have a problem with webhooks not triggering, you might want to check this. I assume you should be able to get the key from the website as well, but I can’t find it on there anywhere.
